philosophy into play
Here's an example of a class project, an experiment in turning philosophy into (a) play using Raphael's The School of Athens as the starting point and backdrop. Without putting too fine a point on it, the basic idea here is to have students pick (or audition or draw cards) a favorite philosopher, thinker, or figure in Raphael's famous fresco...then study the person, learn their philosophy and life, imagine and practice the person's manners and ways, and eventually assume the character on stage.
With any number of characters having major to minor roles, there's a variety of routes a troupe could go with this, from scripted stories, to improvisation with audience questions. However professional or amateurish the play might be, learning and fun would be certain as many of history's greatest thinkers find new life on the stage.
