Here's an example of a personal project I did in 2006: Combining a few hundred nature photos with a bunch of thoughts the images inspired, Still Thinking: On Heaven On Earth ended up as the dissertation I never did 20 years after dropping out of grad school. I didn't plan it that way, that's just the way it turned out.
After completing this experimental "movie" I immediately did another with the same basic format and style called Masters of the Ages. Combining images, music, (and perhaps words, oral or written), I'd like to do another in the same basic manner, but make it a group/class project on a more global scale. Pushing this dream to the extreme, this much bigger long-term project would be dedicated to cinema's great tone poem artist Godfrey Reggio. With all due respect to this singular auteur, I call this third part of my trilogy Qatsi: 2033. In any event a few noncinematic examples of how I combine words with digital photos can be found here.
