As the slide below indicates, Tenet Six of Cannabis Fitness encourages the adoption and practice of complementary therapies, including counseling, meditation, yoga, tai chi, etc. Dialectical Behavior Therapy, as developed by Marsha Linehan and taught by others, provides a most practical philosophy of mental health along with many skills directly applicable to everyday life.
Whether through formal counseling or do-it-yourself treatment, the foundation of dialectical behavior therapy (and source of its name) is developing a mindset that accepts our present situation while simultaneously recognizing we are working to change things. Personally, I’ve found the practice of DBT a great complement to my cannabis use; plus it provides a nice baseline or reference point for the type of attitude and behavior we would hope for ourselves and each other.
